Freecash Review 2024: Tricky to Use, But Some Good Rewards

I tested Freecash, one of the largest online rewards sites. Within my first week of signing up, I had earned $31.35 on the platform. (Since I completed an offer that required a $20 donation, my net earnings were $11.35.)

While the site has its quirks, it also offers good earning potential if you navigate it correctly. This review will share my experience and tips for maximizing your earnings.

FreeCash stands out for its offers, has decent potential with games, and is an average survey site.

  • Offers: FreeCash often had the highest available offers among competing sites. But while the quality is high, Freecash has fewer offers than Swagbucks.
  • Games: Has a large inventory of games (over 100) where you can earn by completing tasks or reaching milestones. Unfortunately, the details aren't revealed until after downloading the game. This extra step is frustrating.
  • Surveys: I found surveys had accurate time estimates and immediate payments. However, there was a high disqualification rate (around 80% for me). If surveys are your primary earning activity, better options exist.

The most frustrating aspect of Freecash is its navigation. Unlike Swagbucks, which offers a variety of opportunities upfront, Freecash funnels you into specific offers first. Although you can bypass this (details below), access to all offers upfront would be preferable.

Verdict: If you frequent rewards sites, Freecash has its sweet spots. But if you're new to this, a site like Swagbucks, with better navigation and more opportunities, is a better alternative.

Pros:
  • Reserves higher earning opportunities for power users.
  • Available worldwide, but the quality of offers and opportunities varies by country.
  • A large inventory of offers, games, and surveys.
  • Low minimum cash-out.
  • Money makers were paid out instantly.
Cons:
  • Must complete specific Freecash offers to gain broader access.
  • Offers often lacked details about requirements.
  • Gaming offers are hidden until you download the game.
  • No cash-back shopping.
  • Face scan required to cash-out.

6 Things I Learned About Freecash

Through some trial and error, I discovered the nuances of Freecash that are worth knowing before you sign up. Here are the most important lessons from my experience.

#1. Don’t Expect A Buffet of Options Immediately After You Sign Up (But There’s A Workaround)

Instead of showing you every opportunity Freecash offers on the platform, you’re funneled into specific offers.

At first, I only had three offers available. I then needed to unlock more offers on the site.

I was limited to seeing three offers upon signing up.
I was limited to seeing these three offers upon signing up.

I ended up downloading and installing Dice Dreams. Once that download was complete and the app was installed, I had three more available offers, for a total of six — but these were all gaming offers.

What’s interesting is that these are what I saw available under the “Earn” tab in Freecash.

However, If I navigated directly to the URLs below, I could access all the respective opportunities when logged in.

  1. freecash.com/offers
  2. freecash.com/surveys
  3. freecash.com/offers/games
Navigating directly to freecash.com/offers allowed me to bypass the restrictive user flow and see all the available offers without downloading certain gaming apps.
Navigating directly to freecash.com/offers allowed me to bypass the restrictive user flow and see all the available offers without downloading certain gaming apps.

The likely reason Freecash does this is to maximize revenue per user.

Of course, as a user, I didn’t like these restrictions at all.

As someone who doesn’t prefer gaming offers, the idea of downloading games I’m not going to play to get access to other offers wasn’t a great start.

#2. Reasonable Offers Await Once You Properly Navigate the Platform

After downloading my second game, I could see 20 available offers on the platform. It was here that the offers started getting outside the gaming space. But instead of performing another task, I went to freecash.com/offers, which allowed me to browse all available offers.

Breaking down some of the offers, I liked what I saw.

I’ve always found finance offers among the most lucrative on reward sites. Comparing the finance offers available on Freecash, Swagbucks and KashKick, I found some very good sweet spots on Freecash.

WebullEarn $42 for opening an account, funding it with $5, and making a trade. Reward is deposited after seven days.Earn $15 for depositing $5 and making a trade. Reward is deposited after 32 days. Not available.

MoomooEarn $18 for depositing at least $1.Earn $10 for depositing at least $1.Earn $7 for depositing at least $1.

As I checked more offers, Freecash frequently had the best offer among available alternatives. So if you’re one to sign up for offers, the site is worth checking before committing to any particular offer.

I took advantage of the offer to donate $20 to the American Cancer Society and earn $27 on Freecash.

In the online rewards world, an offer like this is referred to as “a money maker,” because you’re getting more money back than what you pay.

Admittedly, I was hesitant, as there were very few details about the offer on Freecash.

However, after making the donation, the money was credited instantly to my Freecash account, and I then had enough for my first withdrawal.

#3. Have Low Expectations for Surveys

Surveys are rarely high-paying offers on reward sites. Instead, they’re best viewed as ways to push your balance over the minimum cash-out threshold — although occasionally you can find something valuable.

Freecash aggregates surveys from third-party sites. The only exclusive surveys available were the initial handful of profile surveys directly from Freecash.

On the plus side, there are many surveys available, and the estimated completion times were accurate.

However, because you’re redirected to a third-party site after filling out a handful of Freecash questions, you often answer the same questions repeatedly.

Even after meeting the initial qualification criteria on Freecash, you can still get disqualified midway by the survey site, which could be a few minutes in.

In such cases, Freecash offers a small consolation by letting you spin a wheel to earn some cash (I always earned $0.05).

If you’re interested in taking surveys, our research shows there are better alternatives that can pay much higher on a per-hour basis. Check out our best survey sites list to find more profitable options.

#4. Game Offers Are Good, But They Take Time to Evaluate

When you’re in your earning dashboard to see what games are available, Freecash withholds certain information until after you download the game.

Ideally, you should know the exact milestones you need to accomplish to earn money before you commit to downloading a game. But Freecash often withholds this information until you download.

Offers only show full details after you download the game.

How do the offers compare? Monopoly Go is a popular game and, therefore, an offer worth comparing across platforms.

Here are the offers available on Freecash and two major rewards sites:

  • Freecash. You can earn up to $140 by reaching specific board milestones within set time frames. Reach Board 27 in five days for $20, Board 56 in seven days for $40, Board 86 in 12 days for $40, and Board 101 in 14 days for $40.
  • Swagbucks. Earn up to $206.50. The milestones are to reach Board five for $0.10, Board 12 for $0.15, Board 19 for $0.25, Board 42 for $5.00, Board 71 for $10.00, Board 101 for $40.00, and Board 176 for $150.00.
  • KashKick. Has an identical offer to Freecash.

Unlike in the Finance category, where I constantly found best-in-class offers, it was a mixed bag on the gaming side with Freecash. As I continued scrolling through and annoyingly downloading apps to see the actual earning potential, I found cases where they paid the most and cases where they paid the least.

#5. The Low Minimum Cash-Out Is a Plus

Withdrawal options for Freecash start at $5.
Withdrawal options for Freecash start at $5.

You can cash out via PayPal and bank transfer starting at $5. Gift cards available on Freecash are Amazon, Visa, Google Play and Apple. You’ll receive a 30% bonus if you cash out your rewards to Stake.com, an online social casino (not recommended) with limited availability in the U.S.

If you unlock advanced mode (more on this below), additional payout options become available, which include more gift cards and crypto (as shown in the following screenshot).

Crypto transfer works by providing Freecash with your public address, and then they’ll transfer the funds. Options include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Dogecoin.

While I could cash out immediately, the verification involved in withdrawing was a face scan. We’ve seen many rewards sites increase their verification process recently, with some requiring some form of ID. With Freecash, no ID was needed, but I was taken to a third-party site where a face scan was performed after allowing access to my video camera.

#6. You Can Unlock Advanced Mode at $20 of Earnings

Freecash allows you to progress towards advanced mode once you reach $20 of earnings.
Freecash allows you to progress towards advanced mode once you reach $20 of earnings.

After earning $20, Freecash users unlock Advanced Mode, which provides several benefits.

  • Better navigation. Instead of navigating directly to specific URLs to access additional offers, I can see the tabs with surveys, games, and offers within the Freecash Dashboard.
  • Bonus on surveys. I could earn a limited-time bonus of 50% on surveys. The offer was available for three days.
  • More payout options. You can access a wider variety of gift cards and crypto transfers.
  • Additional offers. Additional games and offers become available.
  • Access to Freecash leaderboard. Freecash awards its most active users with daily and monthly bonuses. Each day, $500 is split among the top 1,000 users, and each month, $5,000 is shared among the top 1,000 users, resulting in a total monthly prize pool of $20,000. You’re automatically entered into the leaderboard with the points you earn on the platform.
  • Affiliate links. You get access to affiliate links you can share with your network, where you’re paid out between 5% to 30% of your referrals’ earnings based on the number of referrals you bring in.

Final Thoughts on Freecash

I was pleasantly surprised with Freecash. While I don’t love being funneled through specific offers at first, once you learn how to navigate the site, there are some decent options and an engaging community on the platform.

It’s definitely for more experienced users of reward sites, and if you have some experience earning on a site like Swagbucks and want to start leveling up your earnings, it’s worth signing up.
